Yeah the big news was in fact a rumor that became true. Mesa selling all CRJ and being an only ejet fleet. It's now 100% confirmed.
As for Mesa shutting down and etc... That would never be announced during a town hall. It wouldn't be announced ever. If it happens, it would happen immediately with no warning like what happened to express jet. If they notify people before hand of anything that hints at it, all investors will be lost, Mesa stock will be worth 0.0001 cents, and Mesa would shut down MUCH sooner than originally scheduled.
However that is the current going rumor, is that it will be shut down, just not officially announced (and as explained wouldn't ever be announced). Wouldn't surprise me considering the $50 million being lost every quarter
