Well the scope agreement is in place….however if United were to purchase Mesa and staple the seniority list to the bottom of the United list…now we have “ United” pilots flying 79 seater planes. My guess is either way we are looking at a purchase not just a regional contract….how that will effect the pilots at both mainline and regional side cannot be determined till more information is released….this has been in the works for at least a year.
You are seriously smoking something if you think UA is going to buy out Mesa and make it a wholly owned. Not gonna happen

Yes I do agree with you. Which is why I am trying to tell these folks that Mesa email says their CEO is “finalizing” a deal. It is NOT DONE and they should not read it as done. It will not get approved under the current scope clause to move this 900’s to United. United will not buy and staple them. They will take their 175’s back during bankruptcy and move them to another regional if need be. How many times did UAL say they weren’t filing bankruptcy on the pension plan. Then bam there it went.

I totally agree with you. The employees are the ones who always get shafted. They need to be applying now for one of those “more respectable carriers” that AA listed or a ULCC or Legacy. (Interestingly AA didn’t mention Republic in their press release as picking up extra flying, not to sure what that was all about). Seniority is everything, get to your new company now.
