As do you on how to alter people’s original posts. Perhaps a good side hustle in the event you ever get furloughed (?)

I know I'm responding to a troll but.

"We had to plead to be let out of this contract,” he continues. “Any inference that anything other than that occurred is a fabrication."

There’s a little more context. AA started the war by raising pilot pay. They refused to contribute to the pay increase at mesa. Without staffing mesa could not fly the required frames on the CPA so they were fining mesa. The missing piece here is that AA did offer an extension and new rates. But mesa could not upgrade sufficient captains to be able to meet the demand. So it’s a stalemate and it was a mutual parting of the ways. AA Needs the mesa lift short term. But mesa can’t do it at the old rates and without some contract relief. This is a good deal for mesa. Probably better for mesa than it is for American.

I know, I just wanted to slap coordough a bit, it wasn't Mesa who kicked AA to the curb. Sounds like both parties were happy to get rid of each other.

I'm not sure I understand why there'd ever be an expectation they would. They don't own Mesa, and simply contract out that flying. I can't imagine they'd care how their contract carriers manage to staff.

They care. Who do you think bankrolled the hiring bonuses all those years?

There is no point in spending more money if Mesa can’t keep up their end of the deal.

They were double discounting what could be flown.
