So, pardon the ignorance, but was it said or implied that the 900 thing is temp to eventually transition the crj crew over to 175s or is the intent to operate the 900 ongoing?

also, clapped out as they are, I’d still rather sit in the back of a 700/900 any day than a 145 or 200

interesting take.. on AA vs UA and what there offering. Sure the truth is in the middle. But his comment that training failure rates is over 25%. Ya. I would say thats high…

If UA did as you mention, the flying would be out of UA hubs to smaller cities. Kirby has been pretty clear that sending rj’s into the hubs of our competitors is a failing strategy. Mesa could pull a rabbit out of the hat like Air Wisconsin did and find flying with another carrier, but I seriously doubt that you’ll see CRJ-900’s in the UAX system.
Check the 10-9 filed August 8. 20 (and these are not the 170s that are parked) were removed from the cpa. This was announced august 9. Don’t believe me. Look up the documents. I expect 20 900s to come on. Everyone ASSUMED these were the LL’s. They weren’t.

Ok I will stop beating the drum. Seems like Kirby is prioritizing lift over coustomer experience.

however, I will see what United ALPA has to say. There seems to be a lot more that needs to get done then dot the i and cross the t.

So we’ll see what happens in April.

honest question what is the attrition rate at Mesa? Someone said you can fly 20 900s. I assume that hiring will prioritize the 175 going forward so how many do you think you will be able to fly by April?

Now to add something else to talk about:

I assume this is going to come with some pretty heavy strings attached including 49% of the company.

CommuteAir has been trying to get a 175 program up and running.

MESA already has a 175 program and CommutAir has only 50 seat 145s which United no longer wants.

So Mesa has the jes CommutAir has the pilots…..both are 49% owned(we assume) By United…..Shotgun Marriage??

Mesa is a publicly traded company. They can't just "give away" 49%, UA has to buy those 49%. Which would make no sense and seems irrelevant to just shuffling airframes on their CPA.

I was wrong. These were the LL. So we could reconfigure 20 900s with 70 seats and replace the LLs without touching scope.

Domiciles will remain the same

Not buying Mesa/Not absorbing

Said Mesa asked to get out of American deal

Opening a base in Denver

Trying to increase training numbers but short on LCA/instructors

Played a song from his phone he made through artificial intelligence. Rap song. “Switching it up I’m dropping American for United “. (Yes I’m not kidding, super cringe)

Which plane is going to Denver? 900 or 175? Makes a difference on which bases are reduced for the frames foinf to DEN. Largest base by hull count is IAH by far.

No.

You can't just "buy" 49% of a publicly traded company. Someone has to sell it to you. And what do you do with a minority stake at a publicly traded company?
Expressjet was completely different as it was owned by SkyWest and not publicly traded.
