The following is pure sarcasm:
Only two left?
What about Southwest Airlines, or Spirit, Jet Blue, Frontier? Maybe Neeleman is looking for some additional lift.
There are plenty of rabbits to pull out of hats and be skinned.
Whichever Airline picks up the -900’s, they will surely be based in PHX and DFW.

I don’t get what the mass hysteria is all about. Mesa is reallocating their pilots to the United side of the operation. United subsidized the pilot wages for Mesa’s American Eagle and DHL operations. United bought 18 CRJ 700’s from Mesa. They are obviously involved in this discussion. With adequate UAX staffing they can actually start flowing pilot’s through the Aviate program which has been pretty stalled out since there’s a shortage of UAX captains. United gets their UAX better staffed and improves their Aviate pipeline. Sounds like a good deal for them. Only people that are getting shafted are the Mesa lifers that will get displaced to a new base which is nothing new for any regional airline. If American thinks Air Wisconsin’s 200’s will be a better fit, good for them. Every Mesa employee has speculated this since we knew American didn’t give us money for a pay raise back in September. Y’all need to go outside and touch some grass.
1200 in ORD and no announcements to the United employees about this wonderful new jet joining our fleet!
not even a single mention of Mesa Airlines……JO is lying to you.
I have nothing against Mesa employees and wish them all the success in the world flying the much better E175 for United Express.

The sad reality is none of the C-suite is going to come in and whisper in everyone's ear what's really going to happen. Not because JO is some mustache twirling ne'er-do-well but because execs are bound to very strict confidentiality rules. Especially since Mesa is publicly traded you simply aren't going to hear that much out of him besides "everything is fine, please keep working."
That being said, I don't think it's doom-and-gloom for Mesa. I could very easily see United tossing a financial life-vest to Mesa with some heavy strings attached. Essentially become a 49% shareholder in Mesa and making some changes as United sees fit to "right-the-ship" in their view of the world. Worst case: Mesa restructures. Mesa ain't going anywhere. And Mesa probably won't be the last carrier to go through this. These current pay rates are not sustainable at the regional level.
On the upside for the pilots: Now that Mesa is strictly a UAX partner - the pilots have improved chances of getting picked up by another legacy carrier in American. Just my inflation adjusted $.02
