Mesa will have to pull seats to make them scope compliant

Don't know the nitty gritty details of UA's scope limitations, but doubtful it would be that easy.

Yea maybe if they pull ALL of the seats out. Maybe they can fly some cargo or something. The scope clause won’t allow for one more regional aircraft to fly pax. That’s the nitty gritty. UAL is capped out. They won’t allow another regional aircraft, unless they pull a 175 out of service to replace it with those clapped out 900’s on a 1-for-1 basis.

Ask yourself the likely outcome for that scenario…

That is completely wrong. No ratio - just hard numbers. Our 70/76 seat bucket is already full.

The additions of 737-700/800/900/Max8/Max9/Max10 or any A319/320/321 do nothing to affect the large regional jet ratio. United would have to order and receive a small narrowbody such as the A220 or B717 to affect the ratio. It is impossible to get the CRJ-900s on the property without removing EMB-175s.

Because it won't happen.i can't guarantee much in life, but I CAN guarantee that UAL ALPA won't be giving scope concessions.

What they are talking about does not require any change in scope. They are talking about parking 175's they can't staff and replacing them 1:1 with CRJs where they do have pilots for now. Avoids a huge training backlog at Mesa and gets instant lift for UA.

Whether that really will happen remains to be seen, but that's their dream right now.

Dude. Only a couple 79 seaters still exist. Most are already 76.

Spot on. We are waiting with bated breath. We’ve already seen a summer miracle. Why not a Christmas miracle?
