Anyone know how many 175s are parked for UA? Anyway even if it’s true the 900s are coming over it’s not going to be good when UA finds out they are falling apart

The CRJ-900 is currently outside of the scope clause for United. Right now I see no change to scope, especially after the massive failure of the first TA. I suppose all of those pilots will need to be trained on the EMB-175.

Default United ALPA MEC Response

“ The United Pilots Master Executive Council (MEC) is unaware of the details of the announced agreement between United Airlines, Mesa Airlines, and adding Mesa’s CRJ-900 to the United network. CRJ-900 additions are subject to limitations under the scope provisions of the pilot agreement with United Airlines. United is already at their cap on these types of airplanes. Anything beyond that limit must be flown by United pilots. We will carefully examine any changes to make sure they are compliant with the United Pilot Agreement. The United MEC’s long-held position is this type of flying should not be out-sourced to regional carriers, but flown by United pilots. United pilots operating United aircraft is the most assured way of executing on United’s Core 4 principles to deliver safe, caring, dependable, and efficient service consistent with United’s aspiration of being a premier world airline.”

"one of the most advantageous transactions in the history of regional aviation."

Maybe UA purchased Mesa? How else would they deal with the scope clause?

this right here should end the discussion. United does not “surprise” ALPA. The fact UAL ALPA has no idea about this proves JO is lying. Enjoy the E175. It’s a much better aircraft sucks for those that live in DFW and PHX.

It's not if you only put 76 seats in it.

So Mesa can't staff those, but they can staff CRJ-900s with 76 seats?

Even if they were wholly owned it would still be outside UAs pilot scope agreement. They would have to buy Mesa and interstate the seniority list making Mesa pilots UA Pilots.
