The only thing working in Mesas favor is management is in good terms with United and United is in negotiation with their pilot group for a new contract which could potentially see them getting relief on the scope clause for the 900s to be added but most don’t see that happening.
UAL pilots just lynched their own union for floating a luke-warm TA. Scope relief? Yeah "most don't see that happening" is one way of putting it.
Maybe convert 900's to luxury 50-seaters?

10s of millions of dollars worth of work? No they aren’t. It’s not Chess this is Mesa lying to their pilots.

People on here don’t seem to take the hiring demographic at United over the last five years. There are thousands of regional pilots who were kicked in the groin by the regionals over the last decade and saw what it did to their career and industry. They (we) want nothing more than to watch the regional industry burn; and we’ll gladly light the match. Zero scope relief.

Also th ere is no way United is going to fly CRJs into PHX and DFW. That is EXACTLY what Kirby and Quayle are on record saying they don’t want.
so if they DO jump through all the hoops for the 900 then PHX and DFW will not be bases.

seems smart right to get rid of a comfortable 20 year old airplane for another 20 year old airplane that has the worst net promoter score of all aircraft in the United fleet?
United is focused hard on NPS this is the opposite what they want.

Not only that scope was one of the reasons for the 94% NO vote and all the company wanted was to up the weight of the 550 so it could fly further.
there will never be any more room for bigger RJs at United only less

it isn’t it’s frames that United has contracted. The ONLY path this has is if Republic gets rid of ALL E170s as the 900 comes on.

Is United is going to change all their booking engines? The app? All reservation software? And airport software? Train the ramp agents and gate agents? Paint new lead in lines at the airport and paint CRJ-900s into United paint?
