I think you maybe right. The timing of JO’s email came right after the news of American dropping Mesa became public. This could be a tactic used by management to keep the CRJ pilots from jumping ship, especially the captains since they are all in high demand. The only thing working in Mesas favor is management is in good terms with United and United is in negotiation with their pilot group for a new contract which could potentially see them getting relief on the scope clause for the 900s to be added but most don’t see that happening.
Scope relief, that’s hilarious. Every UA pilot I know (I am one) talks about how the explosion of RJ’s screwed up our careers. The only scope relief will be bringing the flying in house

I’m not disagreeing with you there. That’s why I said most don’t see it happening. I don’t see it happening either but JO seems pretty convinced there’s a way for the 900s to transition to United Express.

1. UAL introduce either the A220 or E190/195 and free up more large rj’s
2. Park an existing 70/76 seater for every 900 that enters UAX service
3. UAL buy them and hire pilots off the street to fly them.
I’d think that it’s safe to say that those 900’s are Mesa’s problem and have nothing to do with United.

I agree i hope JO get a slap on the wrist from UA on this one.. If he is lying UA should and could be very upset about this and investors. How would UA agree to keep all CRJ basses open and open DEN. Was JO hitting the bottle hard last night??.

His past actions show he's not above lying to investors and just accepting the legal consequences later.

This is correct, in an email to employees from JO, in part, stated that Mesa is finalizing a new agreement with United which would transfer the CRJs currently flying for AE to United Express. United is expected to maintain all existing domiciles and maintenances bases currently operated by AA and plans to add Denver as a domicile and Houston as a CRJ domicile. He says that as a result of the planned transition of the CRUs "we have ensured not only all of the jobs associated with flying but the future of our company."
Seems it is now clear about the bankruptcy rumor after AA refused to subsidize pay increases. As Pangolin said, part of a chess game. And it seems pretty clear now why Mesa missed its 10-K filing with this happening, i.e., losing the AA flying, and the agreement with United. I hope the agreement with United is finalized, as Mesa is really at the mercy of United now. But I would think they are trying to get that finalized before filing the 10-K. Let's hope that happens for Mesa's sake, weren't we talking about mergers? ;-)

Dude it’s these parked 175s that make this possible. We won’t keep the 900s on forever. The constraint is pilots. We now have the pilots.
