I couldn’t in good faith recommend Mesa to anyone at this point. Previously the quick time to a line and lots of flying was definitely a reason to be here. That’s gone, and the only reason to come here is gone with it. Find somewhere you can get to flying quickly. It’s all about getting the resume filled with 121 time and 121 pic time depending on where you want to go.

A couple years ago, yes. Mesa was a great choice for those reasons. Now steer well clear of this mismanaged gongshow of a company. It only has a few years left to live anyways.

Mesa is the airline equal to "The Walking Dead".

Mind you, there’s still lots of flying. But there’s no CRJ upgrade right now, except maybe a few each month. I’ll be starting my fourth year as an FO in a few months. I might upgrade sometime late next year assuming what we all expect (losing the AA contract) doesn’t happen. Including all things said above, I always think all airlines have their own problems, but Mesa has them all. While we can’t dictate your airline decision, I can say with full confidence, if we could do it all over again, I’d say most of us would have picked a different airline.

The only other airline I am leaning towards is Endeavor. They have 4 years of captain upgrade time and like everybody else, I also want to fly for legacy carriers one day without spending 6-7 years at a regional. I know Mesa has a lot of problems but the only thing that attracted me towards Mesa was a lot of pilots say they fly 1000 hours in a year on the EJET side which means you can upgrade sooner and finally go to United or something. My end goal is to fly for United one day and I am looking for a regional that can get me there quicker. This is a very tough decision on what regional to choose from also one you can get hired for. Mesa pays the lowest but the only good thing is you fly a lot.
