Nice flex boomer but completely misses the point.
This isn’t about comfort this is about if I can afford to do this. Based on the pay, that has been lowered significantly, I could budget for cooking and storing food in my room. Without that I can’t afford to do this.

Some of us have arrived at the hotel here in PHX. The good news is we get a microwave. The bad news is no freezer but a refrigerator a little larger than a shoe box. And it gets worse. The hotel has told us we are not allowed to cook in our rooms anyway. There is a restaurant in the hotel but its expensive. Without a car we are entirely dependent on the shuttle.
The hotel itself is nice. Just not someplace anyone could reasonably expect someone to spend 3 months in.
I'm not sure I can afford this job.

I believe you. Regionals are the only option to move up. I'm making less than I made doing flight instruction. But this is the next step. I can't do flight instruction any more. But I can't afford to eat out every day.
But there is some expectation of the company providing some level of support for employees. Other classes are in hotels with kitchens. Why not us? Plus there were other promises the company made during hiring not being fulfilled.

What promises? If youre at the radisson near the glass palace they used to have a good breakfast where you could take whatever you wanted in a to-go box. Covid may have changed that, but the hotel van will drive you to the costco up the road (get a membership), theres a chipotle, etc up there as well.
Yes, some people get the towne place in tempe (the one with the kitchens) but have to risk being shot on a daily basis for them. The hotel is nice just in a crappy area
If you dont like the hotel youre in, when you get a break/delay in training (you will), check out of the hotel and then request a new one when you come back, often times the hotel assignment will change.
As far as the pay is concerned and whether you can swing it--its not going to get any better for you any time soon. You will be on reserve making 76 hour guarantee, sitting ready reserve in the airport on a daily basis, buying airport food and living in a crash pad (unless youre fortunate enough to live in base). It will essentially cost more once you leave training since the company is no longer required to put you up in a hotel in base.
Many people made more money as a CFI when they could charge for ground time, endorsements, etc. All that is gone. You are paid guarantee unless you break it, which you won't on reserve. But if you cared about that you'd still be in a 172 teaching slow flight at 3000 feet
got a question? feel free to PM. Welcome to hell, youre gonna love it

Guys… the person doesn’t know what they don’t know. Almost every regional provides kitchenettes so it’s a fair expectation to get one. Relax y’all
Again, no one will get in trouble for having some sort of cooker in their room. Just don’t make anything smelly and hide it from housekeeping. Everything will workout

I had some time on my hands and thought I would check for my own curiosity. The Radisson is $101/night and the extended stay with kitchenette just up the road is $68/night. There’s probably some other factors that play into making a hotel decision (shuttle, neighborhood, etc.) just think it’s unreasonable for them to not give you the amenities a place like Extended Stay would give. It’s not a 4 day trip, it’s a temporary home.

There is a place, stayed there for upgrade. Weather or not it has any open rooms is another story. But from what I’ve heard the upcoming classes are extremely large. So the hotel situation is not going to improve. Basically there is a lack of rooms with kitchenettes that can provide transport to and from both the training center and sim building. Throw into that an irresponsible sim instructor taking out a chuck of the training capacity for a bit and the situation will continue to worsen.
