Hearing there’s an inordinate number of aqp failures. Even some very senior/experienced folks not making it.
Is this being exaggerated or are they cracking down? And if so, why extra hard?
Can anyone who’s been there speak to this and say if it’s hard but fair? Or hard and “out to get you.”

The problem, not just at MESA but at many other carriers too, is that the senior guys have been sitting at home for most of 2020, instead of working, so they may be professional, but not proficient.

But if one chooses not to be proficient then he also chooses not to be professional. Maybe I’m wrong

yea for the most part. You’ll sit down and do an “oral” where they run through limitations and systems knowledge. You start missing questions, they start to dig deeper. Sound familiar? Just like every checkride in this industry. Then you hop in the sim and do maneuvers. Know your call outs and show up prepared. You don’t have to build the airplane, but show up with more knowledge than you did on your initial oral and you’ll be fine
