Time for a change
Hey all,
Long time defense contractor with 2400 hours and an ATP, but next to no multi, looking to change things up and head to the airlines. I live near Dulles so I'm looking at places with DC bases, but willing to do a commute if I have to if it makes long term career sense. Would love to connect with anyone else who has also recently had to learn the lingo and navigate the options. Hopefully who also lives in the DC area. Mesa seems like it should be on the short list but would love to hear why I'm wrong!
Thanks everyone, I know posts like this come up pretty often and I have been drudging through the forums to get my bearings. With how rapidly things are changing right now I am hoping to get some current insights.

It would make zero sense for you to commute. There are plenty of places to fly for that have DC bases. If you want to eventually fly for united look for PSA out of DCA. You’re more likely to get to united faster that way. If you don’t care then look at the link for pilot domiciles in the regional forum and pick anyone of them out of iad.

While talking about PBS, it is my first time bidding this month as well, having finished IOE at the end of November, it is just that I cannot log in to the system. I went over the manual, and it says first time users use employee ID, but I keep getting "Bidder Employee Id or password is invalid. Please try again" Do you folks know where I should reach out for tech support on this? Is there an option in our phone tree that can help with this? Sent an email to magpbs but have not heard back yet. Thanks in advance.

Just call the mesa phone tree.. and select standing bid. Tell them the problem and then they will set your password to a stock one like mesayv or something, then you'll be able to get in.
Or email them. [email protected]

Password is different than what is shown in the manual. MAGPBS reached out to give me the new default password, thanks for the help guys.
I did go over my indoc handouts, I don't have any handouts detailing PBS procedures though one of my classmates is going to help a bit.
