Hey, you do you it’s not two months. On minimum pay it’s a $5k difference per month. You would have to go four months to have an equal amount of money earned versus the $20k.
Also, just for future reference. Mesa doesn’t offer anything that doesn’t benefit them more than the pilots. Just remember that.

I think the main issue is that no one in their right mind would plan to stay long enough to not have to repay the bonus in the first place. You can get on with Breeze, for example, as soon as you finish IOE and get a nice pay bump at a real airline.

Honest question… what pay bump is that? Are you talking about 2nd year FO at $122/132k? If you had mentioned any other airline I probably wouldn’t have responded but I’m not sure Breeze is worth the hassle after everything I’ve read on their forum.

Breeze? A real airline? I think the jury is still out on that.

I’m talking about the entire pay scale from top to bottom. Year 1,2,3,4,5,6….. It’s just an example. There’s also Spirit, Frontier, etc. The point was there is absolutely no reason to tie yourself down with a bonus. If you can take the pay rate now take it. I have even heard of guys getting Delta and American at 1000 hrs 121 no upgrade. The hiring minimums are only going to continue to drop. The pilots have to come from somewhere.
My honest question for you is how long can Mesa survive at the rate they are losing pilots? Can they even make it long enough for someone to fulfill the bonus agreement? Wall Street certainly doesn’t seem to think so. And yea I bet JO would come after that money after closing up shop.

Do you have that in writing? Contracts are stagnate after their amendable date AND STILL valid. LOAs lose their validity and the contract is controlling. That’s why there is a date on it. Unless you have something in writing from management you should be snapping back to the old pay unlike the airlines that VOTED in a new contract.
