Probes on for after start.

After landing flow when it goes to probes, it's probes off.

Default Ipads

Can someone explain how the Ipads work at Mesa? I know there is a $40 per month allowance - is that for just the ipad purchase? Do we have to supply our own mount (if so, what's approved/recommended for the ejet)? Is a Foreflight and/or Jepp subscription supplied? Are we able to use geo-referenced taxi diagrams? Worth the extra for the cellular ipad to have GPS (even if don't activate the cellular service)? Any other relevant info I might be forgetting? Thanks.

You buy your own iPad. 40 per month just goes towards your own iPad purchase.

Yes you need your own mount. The most common one that is approved by faa/Mesa is this one

Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Dual Suction Camera Mount (DDMOUNT-SUCTION) https://a.co/d/dT2h2Dx

And

Delkin Fat Gecko Tablet and iPad Bracket (DDMNT-UTAB1)(Bracket only) https://a.co/d/0cp2Q5A

We don't use foreflight in 121 world. Yes jeppesen subscription is provided.

Yes get cellular iPad so you have basic GPS.

Agree with all this but the data plan is for more than just GPS. It’s useful for weather, ATIS etc until you hit electronic devices off. Even in airplane mode (required) jepps can be set to swap to taxi diagram on landing. Mesa, however, doesn’t pay for ownship (stupid for jepp to charge for it, stupid for mesa not to pay).

There is a work around.

Wow I was wondering why ownship/amm charts never worked on Mesa but it did at my previous regional. Even though I enabled it in settings many time. Thought it was just bugged for me. Didn't know you have to pay for it, let alone Mesa not paying for it. It was the best. Especially for taxi.

What is this said work around?

Sorry if I missed something, if you get hired at Mesa you have to purchase your own iPad and mount? Hopefully I am wrong on this assumption?

Yeah you have to buy your own iPad and mount. You are given $480 every year towards the purchase and to maintain it.

You can pick up an 8th Gen ipad used on eBay for $250 bucks. Mounts are $77 on Amazon.

You'll end up spending about $327
