Covid. We could drop to zero and pick up what we wanted. Reserves could swap their schedules around. Long call worked as intended and the company liked it. It was great to see how proper staffing impacted QOL. So our negotiations should focus on “encouraging” proper staffing. But at these rates Mesa won’t want to pay you to sit and do nothing.

Covid.

You’re going to use a once in a generation event, in which the company had no control over, as evidence to back yourself up?

How quaint.

But congrats nonetheless on the pay hike.

All I’m saying is that staffing has a bigger impact on QOL than anything else and we were only properly staffed during covid. I’m not sure why you find that wrong or odd.

The lack of reading comprehension on this board (across all the airlines) is very disappointing.

Are the apps starting to flow in? Those recruiters might want to take their direct emails off the website. 😂

When I finished IOE in 8/19, we were fully staffed. I think in IAH we had about 320 FO’s and 280 captains. Never got calls for junior assignment and I spent 6 months on reserve until I got a line in Feb and March of 20 before going back on reserve during Covid. Only had 11 days off per month during reserve which absolutely sucks for a commuter. Something needs to be done about that.

I was able to drop some reserve days back then to give me a couple of 3 day weekends per month because most days were green though.

Default Sim instructor

How well is the training department staffed?

Is Mesa looking for instructors?

What are the qualifications required for a sim instructor?

What’s the process of applying for an instructor position?

What does it pay?

They need instructors. Call recruiting and apply via the mesa website. I expect a mass exodus back to the line because instructor rates were not addressed in the LOA.

That is exactly what happens. Then they’ll DH us later to rejoin the original crew and finish the trip. It’s all pay protected so it just extra money. There are also protections so this type of thing only happens in the middle of a trip. Not at the end.

What was(is) the instructing override prior to the LOA?
