I’ve flown with several CA’s that have done it, but it’s definitely not easy. You’re learning a new airplane and all of the CA stuff.
One of the guys in the the training department did it and he told us when he was upgrading, there were 5 guys in his upgrade class going from CRJ FO to Ejet CA and he was the only one who passed upgrade. It’s possible, but not easy.

Again, do not come here. Captain upgrade is infinite right now because FOs are leaving faster than captains. There are so few FOs that Captains are doing all of the reserve in IAH this month for both seats. There probably won’t be another upgrade class the rest of this year, likely well into next. They may even do downgrades before upgrades at this point. There is absolutely no reason a pilot should come to Mesa. If you are a cadet just go to Envoy and use that bonus to pay Mesa back. Whatever you do don’t screw yourself by coming to Mesa.
