So Mesa is now flying captains in the right seat quite a bit. What did our strong, robust union that has a spine get in exchange for this?

Default Initial AQP - recurrency is 12 months

Initial AQP recurrency is 12 months
non initial AQP re currency is 6 months!!!!!

AQP is still much better for initial training

Prob Nothing we did this all the time a few years ago. It’s really a safety issue I’ve found captains aren’t really good SICs and both pilots are kinda complacent.

JO was generous enough to offer captain pay for captains sitting in the right seat, there was really nothing further to negotiate with such an amazing offer. This place is a bigger joke with every day that passes. I can’t get out of here quick enough.

This isn’t new. It’s been the mesa way from day one. Come here as an fo. No reserve get your time. Upgrade. Now you are in reserve. And can sit either seat.

I'm a line holder and they still pulled me off my last 3 day trip to fly right seat for another 3 day trip. Crew Tracking apparently can do whatever they want as long as it's in your footprint. To be honest I really didn't mind, I was getting captain pay flying in the right seat without the responsibilities of a captain AND I got to finish my trip a couple of hours earlier. The only thing I was wondering is why they didn't have the captain who replaced me on my schedule trip fly this trip.

Probably because the other captain wasn’t right seat qualified

Just wait until you spend a whole month flying right seat with all the PHX guys on everyone’s no fly list. ‘Cause that’s coming.
