Hello everyone, I have an interview with Mesa coming up in a few days.

Can someone provide some insight into the interview, Questions?
Do they ask about the current airplane your flying, if so, what about it

Also, I heard there is a written exam, is this true, what does it consist of?

Thanks.

I’ve seen that Mesa has 13 days off per month guarantee - which seems to be better than almost all other regionals. But I keep hearing bad things about Mesa’s schedule. So I’m a little confused.

I’m planning to live in the base no matter what. I’m very happy with Mesa’s bases, more worried about the schedule. I’d prefer more shorter trips - like 2-4 day trips
11 days off not 13

It's unfair to compare Mesa to the wholly owned airlines. Those are BASICALLY mainline now. This contract is the first step toward just assimilating them.

That said, if that doesn't happen, then you need to compare to:

Skywest and Republic primarily - multiple carrier airlines.

GoJet, Commutair and Horizon next.

Given that comparison and Mesa Culture this isn't that bad a deal.

Mesa will survive. There's more going on here than just UA and AA.

I checked, but there is no written questions there.
Also, there are only like 70 questions there which are all very basic and also outdated, dont think I am getting the full story there

I wouldn’t worry about it. If you show up for the interview you have the job. We’re all leaving so someone has to fly the planes until the airline dies…

When I interviewed there were no technical questions. Just tell me about a time..

It’s down to one question as of this week… “Are you willing to work under worse conditions than your peers for significantly less money and absolutely no respect?”

Also are you prepared to not have the contract honored and jump through hoops every month just to get your entitled pay. I’m not bitter but this is pretty ridiculous. 11 days off per
month and you have to spend a significant time getting your pay correct EVERY SINGLE MONTH. This isn’t unique or something with a system to correct it, it is the norm cause they know if they do illegal bad things to everyone, only 25% max will file a grievance and or make a fuss. They just made
some dollars. Shady as F

also cool features like, you finish your line period. Get on airplane to commute home. . . Land and now you are unavailable for junior assignment.
now you don’t get premium pay for the month cause you have an “absence”. Welcome to holding a line, which is glorified reserve as far as the company is concerned. Just stating some facts. Desperate times.

Exclamation ulcc

I saw this the other day,

Even with the AAWO pay rates, you are still better off leaving the aawo to frontier/jetblue/southwest/spirit/ or other low-cost major than continuing to stay... even if the pay rate is permanent or you stay until the flow. The earlier you leave to a ULCC, the more money you will make over a decade, 50-100% more. Spirit/frontier guys make a LOT of money if you pick up trips and max out your credits. It really is not at all bad to retire at a ULCC... you will be much happier than AA/United/Delta guys.
