Default Hard to find new pilots when no AQP initial

Mesa will in my opinion now have a much even more difficulty finding new hire FO with no initial AQP. Every airlines offers AQP except C5 and now apparently Mesa.it will be a big risk going into a training program
with No AQP. That is just my opinion, why take the risk and one has a better chance to succeed and pass with AQP rather then traditionally fail/pass checkride. One doesn’t want on their record a 121 failure event. why did the AQP go away, I imagine the FAA found something wrong with Mesa training and therefore the AQP training is going away.

perhaps some new hire FO can elaborate on the AQP being a factor of coming or not coming to Mesa

Mesa has never had AQP for new hire training, and has still IMHO been the best in the industry when it comes to training (at least on the CRJ) it’s probably the only thing the company does well.

We had AQP for recurrent, not initial.

If you were a really adult mesa pilot and not a 13 year old message board troll in Mommies basement you would know that not all of the 175s are mesa’s. The first 60 are uniteds. The last 18 were leased by mesa. Those are the ones being parked in Kingman. Mesa doesn't own any 175s. All are leased either by United or Mesa. But then a real adult mesa pilot knows that. Anyone whose “heard” anything is full of fecal material.

Please recheck your facts. Unfortunately you are not correct!

I came to Mesa flying 172s and such with no previous 121 background. The sim training and checkride are very passable provided you do the work. Non AQP training isn’t this monster in the closet some make it out to be. Study and chair fly and you’ll be fine.

I know Mesa is well known for being the "second chance airline" for people with multiple 121 failures/washouts. Odd question, but is Mesa the only one? Is there another regional or part 135 operator that gives people a "second chance" at a career in aviation. Can you name a few? Thanks.

in this economy why take a risk and go for the better option I think. SkyWestand many has AQP initial training. Why have the added stress of pass /fail. Correct me if I am wrong but AQP is literally almost impossible to fail unless to totally goof off and not study. Unless you like Mesa bases and don’t want to commute that would be the selling point for new hires to go to Mesa. Any other thoughts would be appreciated

in this economy why take a risk and just go for the better option I think. SkyWest and many other regionals has proven safe AQP initial training. Why have the added stress of pass /fail. Correct me if I am wrong but AQP is literally almost impossible to fail unless to totally goof off and not study. Unless you like Mesa bases and don’t want to commute that would be the only selling point for new hires to go to Mesa. Any other thoughts would be appreciated
