Lack of FO’s right now. Lack of captains in a few months. We are so short of pilots that MX isn’t really a factor anymore. Plenty of aircraft sitting around.

Short story long. We used to have the most efficient training in the industry. And it was because the person doing the scheduling was a Genius level scheduler who could re-arrange things with little to no disruption. There was never a missing instructor, sim partner or idle sim. This angel was working long hours and was available at any time. Approachable, Polite and Genius. She asked for a raise. She was not only rebuffed but insulted. So she walked. The THREE people it took to replace her have not been able to do the job with any similarity or efficiency. It's not even close. Nothing has been the same in the last 4.5 years and it's continued to degenerate. I've toyed with offering the help fix it for a few months but I don't think I could even do it. I would hire her back with any bonus I could afford. The company has lost so much money for their stupidity. It's just astounding.
It sounds like the old “step over a dollar to save a dime” syndrome.

Sounds like a management opinion. It's also showing a reliance on the old criteria of "contracts" somehow implying growth or stability. Contracts are not the criteria currently, and haven't been for many years now. The COVID pause gave managements a breather to catch up on the new paradigm; but apparently you missed that boat.
The new criteria is pilot staffing. The airline that has the staffing will get the flying..... as airlines with contracts they can't staff have their contracts stripped away and given to those who can staff it.
We called this back in 2014-2015.....

Honestly- if you can’t pick up the complete sarcasm in his posts, then PM me. I have some swampland in Florida I’m trying to offload and a big red bridge in San Francisco up for sale. Hurry, they won’t last long.

oh nonsensical! We were taking the planes to Yuma to have heavy aircraft maintenance preformed! We will never be parking planes at MESA. The world has yet to see who we will become. Our hefty new contract is days away!
keep applying if you’re on the fence it’s better to get in while you can before the flood of applicants when they see our new pay

Then I guess taking a 175 to Kingman, AZ to be stored was just a waking dream. And the other mesa 175s that were already there with the windows foiled up were just a hallucination. And the nice folks there who brought us a 15’ ladder to get out of the plane must have the aliens from the Roswell crash who relocated to Kingman for more affordable hangar rental. The Untied gate agents knew all of the 70 seat 175s were going to the desert to be parked before the mesa pilots who ferried them out there did.
Give it a rest and stick to hosting on-line D&D in mommies basement.
