Our IAH base chief is leaving in a week or so don’t know if YV is gonna be a hot mess pretty soon and summer flying is coming up too.

Sure it’s not unique to YV, but is certainly worse than other places. Just perplexing to me that if the problem isn’t sim time, you have a fair amount of instructors, then the only other thing to fix is the EJET schedule? Am I wrong?

Short story long. We used to have the most efficient training in the industry. And it was because the person doing the scheduling was a Genius level scheduler who could re-arrange things with little to no disruption. There was never a missing instructor, sim partner or idle sim. This angel was working long hours and was available at any time. Approachable, Polite and Genius. She asked for a raise. She was not only rebuffed but insulted. So she walked. The THREE people it took to replace her have not been able to do the job with any similarity or efficiency. It's not even close. Nothing has been the same in the last 4.5 years and it's continued to degenerate. I've toyed with offering the help fix it for a few months but I don't think I could even do it. I would hire her back with any bonus I could afford. The company has lost so much money for their stupidity. It's just astounding.

I was about to say okay maybe a little much on the genius level stuff. But 3 people not matching what she did is crazy and she did when we went from 500ish pilots to 1200+ and while we added a new fleet.

The 3, actually I think maybe 4 now, aren’t anything special. A person of average intelligence would replace at least 2 or 3 of them.

shows the companies lack of understanding and touch with how delicate the department is. Also proof that she was worth her weight in gold for us. I haven’t seen her in awhile is she still at the big C?

And she didn’t ask for a raise out of the blue either; the company decided to give her additional, permanent, job responsibilities above and beyond what she was already doing (without a salary increase). And the ladies that took over were all pre-existing employees already busy doing something else that suddenly got saddled with scheduling duties on top of their actual jobs.
