I absolutely feel bad for all of the new hires who likely didn’t know how bad the delays were when they showed up. I feel as if I wasted a chunk of my career while other friends who started at the same time as me have been flying the line for months at other companies. Everyone I’ve met at Mesa has been wonderful, but in a market where Frontier has started grabbing RATP CFIs straight out of flight schools, it is almost impossible to recommend the company currently.

where would you possibly go? Where else has the reputation for greatness like MESA? Be proud of those wings
How does that work in Airline Apps? Is "MESA EJET PILOT" a position at the airline, or would one just put "MESA EJET PILOT AIRLINES" as the employer?

No, in Airline Apps you go to the "God I wish I'd done better in school" tab and the job pops up.

Seriously do not come here, it will be nothing but a waste of time. No point in gaining seniority for this place to fold in a few months.
People been saying this for the past decade about mesa

This is a guaranteed way to get into united.
The OTS is not so guaranteed.

We may get a contract sooner than that but it won’t be because the company needs it. In fact I just don’t see it happening anytime soon at all.
Even without a new contract Mesa is where I want to go. I'm already in Aviate and need to go to one of the Aviate partners. I want to fly a 175 and Houston is the only place I could live in base affordably at an aviate partner, as I don't want to commute. I just wanted to know if there was a good source of contract info.

The only leverage you have is to apply elsewhere
They’re unable to recruit from within because of how bad the scheduler is from what I’ve heard..recruiting was told to keep the hose on, that’s part of the problem. Also heard because all of us are sitting it’s costing the company x amount and they’re sinking financially. I think ALPA should still hear us out if they want to still have job’s too, right?
Guys I know are on the line for a 8 months are already in aviate and eligible for captain upgrade because they’re maxing out every month, ejet ca’s are getting a right seat signoff to be used at the company’s will because they’re so short staffed on the line. Just think we’re hold more power than we might know…

Aviate had changed so many times in the past four years I would hardly call it a guarantee.

I was in the same boat as you last year and I'd say take a look at Commut if you want to be flying anytime this year since they have a Houston base. The 175 is a beautiful airplane with better trips but with only 2 sims up for both new hires and recurrent, I can't see anyone's training footprint under 8-12 months unless big changes are made. Your time sitting waiting for simulators doesn't count toward the Aviate min time requirement and its a chunk of flight time to miss out on.

Can’t upgrade even if you maxed out each month for 8 months. That would only be 800 hours blocked unless they had prior 121. It’s not just one singular scheduler. Pilot training has multiple and T is solid. The rest are useless. Crew scheduling wise there’s plenty they just suck at their job like they always have. ALPA doesn’t care about regionals until they start affecting the mainline carriers. This summer will be the ultimate test for this company in quite some time. But what’s happening here is not unique to YV.
