It's an arbitrary value but it has worked. You cannot argue with success as far as reducing/eliminating fatal accidents.

Behind the scenes is the magician, the one who tough a pilot was too expensive after being here more than three years, now he is crying and blaming on regulations his obsolete business model, delaying contract negotiations till last minute to be able to save his investors last pennie’s, sadly for him is not like that anymore.

2 week notice is not a legal requirement.

No state or federal law requires you to notify your company two weeks before leaving your job.
