I agree, and also think your “2.5 year upgrades” is disingenuous. That’s due to Covid, and only a snapshot. The upgrades here are really the quickest in the industry. The problem now is the training delay that’s slowing a pilot to the line. I can’t in good conscience recommend this place to anyone because of the training lag. However if they fixed that it would be the quickest to upgrade over anyone because of the lean staff and lack of being on reserve out of training.

That is the only benefit of going to mesa. If one gets their time and gets out asap that’s worth $400k on the back end of a career for every year you skip out at the regionals. Now, given the current hiring frenzy, getting hours and getting out is what it’s all about. Anyone starting at a regional should have an exit plan.

While agree covid slowed down upgrades I think you’re also seeing more senior guys who didn’t upgrade precovid trying to jump on the train now too. So we have to get through the backlog of those guys first which will be another 6 months at least.

Saw on the last SB, plenty of guys are coming down to PHX to upgrade training. At least 4 in my systems class.

I’ve heard that lately the Ejet sims have been tough and a decent amount of people have failed sims. Does anyone know if this is the case on the CRJ side as well?

I’ve been here over 2.5 years. Got awarded EJET transition upgrade in January. Finally going to class in March. There’s some pretty senior CRJ FO’s deciding now is the time to upgrade as well. As for the CRJ initial training when I went through it was pretty easy. As long as you come in prepared you’ll be fine. The airplane is pretty easy to handle. 10 sims is a lot. You’ll be prepared for the checkride.
