Kinda hard to follow your writing…
Not sure who you’re referring to when you say “cargo carriers”. If you read my comments in this thread, I’m strictly referring to DL, AA, UA, UPS, FedEx
Depends where you hope to go. Do you need it, no. Does it put you in a separate cue, yup. Don’t need a degree at DL anymore don’t you know…
You’ve checked huh? 13 huh? You may have seen where I said a sh$t-ton of FOs were getting plucked by a certain LCC from my regional in ‘19 - before this latest hiring boom. That’s not new. I’m not talking about LCCs, or Atlas, etc
I assume you didn’t mean to have 2 separate sentences - ie “If your apps aren’t out, you don’t have a say…” What does having an app out have to do with me expressing my opinion? Verified comment?!? Wha???I simply asked how many 2000TT are going to UPS/FedEx.
Look man, I merely commented about someone implying to a new guy to just fly at all cost, because he’ll be gone in 500 hours. That’s it. I’m allowed to have that opinion. It’s the same as SJS, etc. At the end of the day, I just think it’s a little rash to jump to Mesa vs. SkyWest because he wants to fly right now. Especially as you stated right after this post to me that an August new hire is still waiting on sims with Mesa.
And no, my apps aren’t out.

No Sim in sight! I'm a part of the October Class they have mentioned nothing about a class date. They keep hitting us with the IDK it's unprofessional and getting Old! They even tried to email new hires to jump over to the CRJ, and if you're in aviate you could stay in the program. But the best part of it all is the fact none of that CRJ (AA) flying counts toward your time to make the legacy jump. It's honestly laughable at this point they havent figured it out. New hires are hungry they want to get started but the company just wont make any moves to make people get through training. And don't even bother asking about the pay raise that is always an "its coming" once again no transparency. Its a disservice to any pilot coming here and it quite honestly is insulting to our intelligence. I don't think it will get better anytime soon and it hurts to say. If someone knows anything better let me know. As of now new hires getting started is bleek.

Here’s more good news: the vast majority of august new hires 2 months behind you haven’t even been given a return to training date.

Question about Mesa vs Gojet for aviate
So I'm at about 1200 hours, and am in United's Aviate. I have an interview with Mesa and Gojet next week, I currently hold a CJO from Republic and am a skywest cadet. I have read everything there is to read on these forums. I am currently thinking about potentially taking the Republic offer because I have a lot of friends there that seem to be happy. Mesa seems to have a large bottleneck in training, yet the benefit here is I get to pick the UAX flying. Gojet's plus right now is the update in pay. I live in Nashville and plan to commute. So the question is, which would you choose? Step out of aviate for Republic and take the chance off the street years from now, or go for Mesa/Gojet and stay in the aviate system?

Keep in mind, withdrawing from Aviate may jeopardize United for you in the future. I think this is what it says in the fineprint. Read the withdrawal portion in the program guide just to be sure that you will be alright applying traditionally. But, the sooner you start flying, the earlier you'll be able to start applying everywhere else. Ultimately it is up to you, what you want to do, where you want to go. If United is the ultimate goal, and since you are in the system already, evaluate Mesa and GoJet training timeline.

Do not under any circumstances switch to the AA side if you are in Aviate! You will NOT transition to United based on any flying done on the AA side. This mistake will cost you a lot of seniority and money down the line.

This is why I am considering Mesa or Gojet. Mesa states you can choose your airframe, and the 170 flying is all UAX and the crj-900 is only american. So that is a benefit. But Mesa apparently has a huge training delay upwards of 6 months from what I understand. Gojet recently upgraded pay so at least you're getting paid better than Mesa. However having the CJO from republic is tempting. I am at a crossroads
