Is Mesa a place to be even if you can’t get into Aviate? You don’t really hear much about guys going to Spirit or Frontier like you do from Skywest or Envoy with those two just being an example. Of course United is a dream destination for many, but maybe I just don’t see the Mesa guys on IG jumping ship like other regionals. And with y’all’s future jump in pay, it seems like not a bad place like lots of people make it out to be.

No not until they get a decent paying contract. Which no one knows if it will ever come. Guys are leaving tho a bunch went to JB recently. We don’t have the influencers like the others

I went up 23 spots in seniority the past two weeks. There’s plenty of movement to other places that are good moves and not lateral moves.

This is probably a YMMV type of situation. Aviate was one of my motivators but then again several of my flight instructors from ASU started with Mesa and ended up at Allegiant, Delta and FedEx. It is doable, you are in charge of your own attitude and potential I figure.

And with y’all’s future jump in pay
I'd like to know more about this, I am only coming onboard with my ATP/CTP starting in a couple of weeks. I have zero knowledge about airline dynamics at the moment.

it seems like not a bad place like lots of people make it out to be.
The pay doesn't seem very desirable, especially if you are single, maybe the bonus would help a bit, I am also reading about 300% stuff, but I am also expecting growing pains.

While we are waiting for sims, we don't attain any seniority, right? Does it start after IOE? Or is it the hire date?

I only saw a few FB and IG posts here and there, but they were mainly about the sign-on bonus a few months back.

I’ve read about a new contract, so hopefully you guys that work there get something soon. And I guess you’re right, maybe the guys at the WO are more the influencers so I guess that’s why I never see any Mesa guys on IG to follow, which isn’t a bad thing if you’re out flying instead of making content. And it’s good to hear guys are getting hired at other places, that’s always a plus.

Yes, you should gain seniority once given your badge, employee number, etc. As terms said people are jumping ship because currently the ship is on fire. Pre-COVID the draw was quick upgrade and PIC time with people getting grabbed to all certain carriers including the legacies and purple/brown. The contract is still a ways out. Not much word on it and we won’t be voting anytime soon. I’m not sure how this place will look 2 years from now. It’s very dependent on our situation with AA. Currently upgrades are at about the 2.8 year mark from DOH and that’s for the EJET. The CRJ is much much more senior and barely upgrading. Do not come here solely based on aviate. Have a plan for the regionals but apply to leave as soon as possible.

Add the delay for sims, probably 3.5 years? Although, if the QoL is a lot higher (elsewhere) wouldn't that also mean a lot slower upgrade times? Skywest is posting upgrade times similar on their website, but their APC update indicates 5+ years.
