Correction email just received from the union:
“ Recall of Furloughed Pilots
The Company sent notice of recall this week to Mesa pilots who were furloughed in training in 2020. The pilots who choose to return will begin training in April and all will be assigned to the E-Jet. We’re happy to see these pilots’ careers restored and back on track.”
Basically, they jumped the gun on the announcement...

The training cost is the same, and the move money that would have to be paid out is a helluva lot cheaper than the annual salary of a pilot.

Which was already done in the fall. Very few actually moved. I think you’d be hard pressed to not save the likely millions of dollars in annual pay for new pilots.

I don’t see how they can afford to still have guys on VLOA. I got called quite a few times this month and last month asking if I could work on a day off. It’s starting to look like we’re at best adequately staffed.

I was told by a EJET pilot that next month there is several lines at IAD at 95 hrs! Talk about burning people out

I think that’s somewhat normal right now considering lots of the former IAD CRJ guys are still going through transition training, so they need guys to have higher credit lines. But the lines are starting to look normal again, I have a 90 hour line next month, and we don’t have enough guys sitting reserve if me, a line holder, is getting called in to work on off days.
