You do realize that the FAA publishes violations by regional and Mesa is at the top already..... we can only go higher.

Foreflight is way too expensive.
Our shop went for Jeppesen because it was way cheaper than Foreflight.

Yes, ForeFlight can be approved for 121. I flew for a smaller 121 carrier that used it. Now with the Jepp charts it could be one awesome tool. Mesa’s only reason for dumping Jepp is $$$. They don’t care what’s in the best interest of the pilots.

I have also spent time with both applications testing battery life. Using night time display, navblue sucks battery power at the tune of 20% per hour, twice the power consumption of Jepp. I never tested the daytime display, but it has to be much worse.

Since we have to have 50% (not 40% like Jepp) power remaining to start a leg, I hope the company is installing the lightning outlets or planning on providing for batteries in the flight deck.

A few cancellations because of lack of battery power should do the trick.

No, the GOM will have us go to Ops and print the necessary charts. Or, dispatch will have to fax the charts to us. Is that something they have taught us in the training yet?

So, maybe, a few delays will either result in lightning plugs or backup batteries.

GOM says we are only allowed to print charts outside of our domicile. Once in domicile we have to use one of the company’s iPads and if none are available (taken by other pilots with the same issue) be taken off of the flight.

So, we just need to have everyone ask for a company iPad when at or below 50% (rather than breaking a FAR by using a personal battery) and we will be taken off the trip after about the third leg (if not sooner in daylight mode) and the flight cancelled because of a lack of reserves. That will really sit well with our partners.

Not really the point I’m making. Just stating that if it really is that bad that will be the reality.
