I don’t have an issue with the health benefits now, just used the tax incentive and can get a better deal on the exchange. I have PLENTY of time , 5400+ total, of that over 4000+ is turbine time. But the kicker is I only have 300+ multi-turbine/jet. That’s why I don’t apply for the legacies, because I would get shot down for the multi, in my opinion. I can hang with a brutal schedule for a year to get that 1000+ sic jet time to boost my resume and maybe look elsewhere. Unless when it’s time to upgrade, it doesn’t look that bad to me from a company/financial perspective.
Any advice would be great and thank you for it.

This thread is soliciting Mesa pilots for comments about the company THEY WORK for, not your insurance. You've posted three times about insurance already when I asked only Mesa pilots to post. Please take your insurance issues to a more appropriate venue. Thank you.

You could easily find this information by going back through these threads and looking for yourself. You might see discussions about Freedom, China, screwing over Delta, the bankruptcy, furloughs, undercutting other regionals on price, undercutting the industry on compensation, etc.
Mesa operates by the skin of its teeth and puts the absolute bare minimum into everything. If you just fly the line and never interact with the company, you can almost ignore this, but not quite. You are not a human at Mesa, just part of a poorly operated machine, and will be treated as such. These hobbyist second-career types we're hiring will excuse pretty much anything just to pretend they're flying a jet. For the poor saps like me with no skills who actually have to make a living at this, Mesa's history and current condition is a serious predicament.

Insurance is a breeze on captain pay plus Houston (in base) is worth something.
JO hasn’t given Mesa a bad name just a product of the times and the times are getting better. Sign on up and you’ll like that EJet.

If you've been in the aviation world, you probably know a terrible pilot that has several failed check rides and failed out of at least one airline. Most all of us know someone like that.
Mesa get's the bad reputation because everyone has a story about a pilot like this, and all of the stories end the same. "They now work at Mesa".
Fail out of training somewhere? Go to Mesa.
3 DWI's? Go to Mesa.
Crash an airplane? Go to Mesa.
Although Mesa must have some good pilots with no skeletons in the closet, their reputation is based on the belief that Mesa will hire anyone (usually over the telephone with no interview).

I do agree our interview and hiring practices probably results in more new hires being bounced out of the program. It was 30% of my class (which I am told is higher than average) - mainly because of laziness or just being overwhelmed by the move up of the new hire.
However, our young guys with a clean record move on to the majors just as fast as the other regionals. Mesa pilots complain they aren’t moving on but either don’t have the background that allows it (bounced out of another program and failed check-rides) or just aren’t doing what is needed to move on (4 year degree, etc.).
