Default SLI negotiations have broke down

Well the DAL/NWA SLI negotiations have broken down..... I guess we will have an arbitrated solution. Too bad for all of us.

Somehow after how close we were a few weeks ago and did not get it negotiated, I am not surprised.

That is OK. It makes it better in the long run. We can hate the arbitrators and will save us the end fighting that would have resulted from something we actually had to take responsibility of.

Default Game not over

All of the good reasons for a negotiated list still apply. The arbs slipping their deadline by a month merely reduced the pressure to make a deal now.
The clock has been reset, giving both teams enough time to run a few more plays instead of settling for a tie....and in negotiations, walking away from the table is a very routine play.

Has the clock been officially reset? The last I read, it wasn't official yet and the November 20th date still stood. Maybe I missed it.....

Officially? I don't know. But it would seem foolhardy for one side to refuse the arbitrators' request for more time. Their response might be: "Oh, you demand an immediate decision, eh? We'll give you one all right!"

Nope, it's officially been pushed back to Dec 20th. We have to wait until just before Christmas now.

If history is any guide, you are wrong -- we will hate each other forever. Just ask ANY green book or red book guy. Arbitration is absolutely the worst thing that can happen. But it shouldn't surprise me. NWALPA is 0 for 26 in their last 26 attempts at a negotiated settlement; DAL is 2 for 2.

Maybe we should not add fuel to the fires of hate for each other by trying to belittle each others past. 0 for 26? Come on. Is that supposed to reflect on the 5000+ NWA pilots? You know better. If you leave the jabs in the keyboard you will do a lot to helping us start off on a positive foot and not having to hate each other.

You're quite wrong Pineapple. I have many, many Green Book friends. I fly with many more whom I've met for the first time. Almost to the man, they are great folks. There was some bad blood for the first few years, but that's been over for a long while.

You're not talking about DAL's 2 "negotiations" with Pan Am and Western while they held a gun to their heads...are you?

Ok, well this list is an attempt, an DAL failed to negotiate a list. Therefore, they're NOT 2 for 2. Think your numbers are skewed. The negotiations were terminated at the SUGGESTION of the mediator. BOTH sides failed. We are one company now, and in a time where the economy STINKS. Unity is more important then ever. Please, let's focus on unity, not division. Let's not point fingers, but rather focus on the future.
