Virgin America mins - Ridiculous!

Yes ALPA has done some great thing for the pilots and safety there is no argument there. But lately (10-20 years) WTF have they done?
This is the same union that was at PanAm, Eastern, and TWA correct? Also the same union that allows 'new hire' RJ First Officers to get paid only $17,000 a year?
I know I have said this before in other posts but god does this argument get old.

It is an Association not a Union.

$17K/yr fo's would be "PFT" and $12,000/yr like they were at ASA when I got there before ALPA.

No, you see I am trying to figure out why companies like ASA, CHQ, GoJets, and Trans States even got the o.k. to fly RJs rather than the Main Line. Post have said pilots are an "all about me" bunch and nothing more could be the truth about the ALPA as well.
Believe me CE750 I understand the need for representation, however I do not think our group's best interest has really been the focus. $12K v. $17K is that really a big difference? We all pay for training in some form or another.

"If you want us to believe that you got MD11 F/O at FDX as a new hire, I really think you are stretching it there. "
Hello guys (and girls)... Im a new guy here, this is my first post. I have a friend that was actually hired straight into the right seat of the MD-10/MD-11 at Fedex two years ago... it does happen.
