Are you a pilot
Shouldn't you be up front
Do you like to fly
How long have you been a pilot
What causes the bumps
What route are you on
When will they let you fly the big planes (when I was at a regional)
Oh, so you're not a pilot (when discovering I'm an FO)
I bet you'd rather be up front
Me: Yeah
Because you don't like not bing in control...
Me: No, because you are annoying the jesus H Fu out of me! (no I didn't actually say that)

And then I discovered the joy of putting on headphones as soon as I sit down whether I'm listening to something or not.

Do deadheads in civvies, easier if you bid one-leg days.

Or answer their questions by talking their ear off about technical minutiae, they'll disengage soon enough.

I do "de-uniform" myself whenever possible. But it's not always possible and it's not always effective. I will say, I've become somewhat blunt to the point of rudeness in my responce to questions just to shut them up if they insist of talking through my headphones (which is itself rude imo)... taking off the headset and asking them to repeat the question even though I heard them the first time, replying as quickly and with as short an answer as possible and putting my headphones back on before they ask another, and they sometimes do ask another after I put the heaphones back on and I do the same thing again. I don't think I've gotten more than two questsions doing that.

So I can wear crocs on my commute home if I take off my tie and shoulder stripes first... Hmmm.

Holy cow guys, agreed on all points. As a commuter I've endured all of that.
