captjns,
Thanks! With last weeks cartoon, I could have gone many ways with the airplane, but meh? I went with that one.
My little commentary on the current state of pilot hiring in the earlier ranks of the career, not a knee slapper, but it works.
It's shocking how fast things have changed.
And Here we are Monday;

tnkrdrvr,
Yea, it's one of those things. Back in the 70's it was when pilots started having long hair, meaning something other than a high-n-tight cut. I think Flying the Line Volume I had a few paragrphs on some pilots who bucket the system.
It's a late post, spent the whole friggin day in the yard.

I know I am in the minority but I see absolutely nothing wrong with a employer being able to set both grooming and dress standards that reflect the image the company wants to project. If someone disagrees with those standards they are free to work somewhere else.

Getting talked to about my "conservative hairstyle" with the enforcer (not a CP/ACP) saying that I, as "retired military" should "exceed the standard"
Sorry brother, I'm not wearing a flattop or high and tight in my late 40s 15 years after I left active duty. I didn't have one of those when I was active duty.
Meanwhile a FA with very unnatural haircolor walks by.
Mind you my normal haircut would actually pass the letter of the law for Navy grooming standards, although it would probably get sideways looks from Marines.

I just want them to be consistent across public facing work groups in standards and in enforcement.
