By no means am I routing for this. Which is why I'm routing for no deal.
I agree this would initially be a Guadalupe-type merger.....for ease and convenience of the merger/acqusition.....but I think the operations would be merged into one, single entity before too long.....Virgin America would no longer exist.....planes would be painted, operational redundancy would be eliminated......seniority would be integrated...

Yes, the 'synergies' and financial benefit from a merger come with eliminating redundancies and they can't do that if carriers are operated separately through a Guadeloupe Scenario. I don't think we will see this type of thing, as it would blow any hopes of labor peace in the future and probably drive several other employee groups to unionize immediately.

If JB & VA merge, name the combined airline "Blue Nun".

Shouldn't it become "Blue Balls Airline" showing proper respect to their virginess?

Synergies?

Napkin math - 4000 plus pilots working for a 40% discount to the market over 5 years is worth over $1.5 billion in direct labor cost savings.

The synergy is the company created leverage of two group competing for growth with their conditions of service.

Die deal die!

Let's start coming together as one awesome happy pilot group.

And in that loving, caring sharing spirit . . . I have a BlueDart I'm willing to sell to the highest Deadwood bidder.

You do know that when DAL and NWA combined, Delta placed NWA In a holding company, for the exchange of stock and then just folded the holding company into Delta. ALPA merger policy still kicked in.

Might as well go for the gusto.......VA, B6, AK & HA.....Now that would be a merger.....little overlap, an instant competitor to the legacies.....
