I agree completely virgin as a whole is overpriced and brings nothing to the table. Splitting assets is much better business. It won't be popular to say but luckily every airline is hiring. This has happened since airlines formed. Companies go out of business and people have to find new jobs. No one is entitled to a special place on anyone's seniority list.

ALPA can't force an airline to merge operations.

Only your or our contract can force this to be a condition of the transactional event.

I would rather this deal died!

Huh? This makes no sense. Virgin America is not filing for bankruptcy, they just had a successful IPO and are now shopping themselves around to potential buyers . The company is profitable. Any buyers will pay a premium for the value created by the well-regarded Virgin brand and the Virgin customers. Virgin America may not be long-term sustainable as a stand-alone airline but this is not a fire sale. This is the opposite of a fire sale. This is a bidding war for a small financially stable airline that is currently producing meager profits. Virgin America sold together will sell for a much higher price than the sum of its individual parts. The upper management and investors at Virgin America know this and they have no intention of short changing themselves.

Virgin isn't going out of business.

We have a contract that details how pilots are added to our list.

What does your say about being added to another pilot groups list?

Nothing?

BTW, we were in the same position until 2008 and we would of had to bank on the goodwill of our executive leadership to take care of us if a TE occurred prior to 2008. Wasn't going to happen. We organized a JBPA vote and then management fixed our PEA to handle this scenario.

I expect you are not counting on your leadership team to protect your so called seniority!

Your leadership will not.
You didn't.

But Jetblue and Alaska Pilots are Richards!

Personally I hope this TE does not go through. I like your product but other than that I'm not sure what this get us except less competition from a Airline who leadership is complaining they have no place to fly because of lack of gates.

People much smarter than you seem to think otherwise. How about you just relax and let things play out the way they will. We should be supporting eachother, not hoping for the worst.

Are you saying remaining independent is worse than a TE?

'cause that is what I'm hoping for.

You think a company has to be going out of business for a fire sale? That's funny. If alaska and jb think it's worth it to split up the little assets virgin has then they will do it!
