Your principal owners are begging for someone to buy you in whole or IN PEICES according to the articles. Career expectations are one of the three major items listed in the ALPA merger policy, along with longevity.

To suggest your guys should go relative with out guys hired before 2007 is insane.

Begging? You must have failed English comp in school. If, and only if the rumor of a sale is true and it is JB, when your seniority number is up to bat, I'm pretty sure the ball is going to smack you right in the face.
Ask the Airways East guys what they think about career expectations and longevity. Really only around 500 East pilots were saved because of their wide-body aircraft. The rest were blended, while the furloughed guys were stapled. ALPA policy? They'll stay neutral period. You may want to reread Section 45.

What's so classless? No one is advocating a 100% staple job. No one is saying, "Give em preferential interviews".....there's going to be an integration, but it's not going to be pure relative seniority either.

Do you really think a guy from VA with top 5% seniority hired in 2007/8 should be slotted in the top 150 at JB? Really?

I get there's going to be hurt feelings over this...there always are....but take emotion of this and look at it objectively......

Just remember, you are seeing 7, maybe 10 or so people who work there posting. These are not the sentiments of the pilot group, just a vocal few.

Ive been through this before. Unless you end up on the committee you will have no control over it. I'm perfectly fine with reading the results via email when it comes through.

Really? Take the emotion out of it and look at it objectively? I think you oughta look in the mirror. Yeah, I think a 2006/2007 guy is gonna get slotted in a 2000/2002 B6 guy. That's preserving same seat and career expectation. Get off your high horse. It's quite clear you have not been through a merger, nor an arbitrated seniority integration.

lol....okay....obviously this isn't going anywhere......too much emotion......we'll see what happens one way or another...like what's been said before...we're all along for the ride anyways....

good luck to all the VA guys and girls.....everyone I've met have been great....I hope it works out--no matter how that ends up....

Yeah, It's not like there are different career expectations.

Not only screw the VA guys but also screw everyone hired after 2007 at JB. This is exactly what I hate about the airlines. The entitlement, and it starts getting real bad when someone moves to the left seat, and keep in mind that move is only based on when you got hired it's not based on skill or merit. The 2007 time frame is about the cut off for left seat at JB with no by passing. So how typical it would be suggested. Let's hope that there is never a merger between JB and a legacy, would the same guys be ok with American not intigrating the list until 1999. Lol, some of you people are a disgrace, and have the "I got mine screw you" outlook on things. Your fine with a bigger and stronger company, but relative seniority is not enough for you. Disgusting!

If Southwest bought us would you be making the same argument? Or would you think that we should be behind all of their pilots hired after we started? That would be a downgrade for most of our Captains. Too much emotion is right. Take it away and look at it objectively. I'm a JetBlue guy and I think relative seniority integration by seat is the only fair way to do it. Then put fences up for upgrade for JetBlue guys because our upgrade time is significantly shorter and fences around all domiciles. All for five years.

You can all send me a check for $5 for saving us probably one million dollars on negotiations.

Last company I saw a Jan 2008 hire get slotted in with 2000 DOHs, all because of category and class. Seriously, DOH doesn't really matter in an arbitrated list. I honestly don't get what high horse you are sitting on when your airline literally started flying just 7 years before ours. Honestly I thought I'd see this stuff from Delta or Alaaka, being old airlines with senior pilot groups. But some of you take the tool-of-the-day award for proposing screw jobs for VX guys before anything is even official.
