And have you read that 22 page document I have.......
1 it doesn't cover a buyout only a merger and in order to be considered a merger we'd have to integrate a MAJORITY of there airplanes routes gates people etc etc etc.
2. Basically it also states that the two parties work it out on there own.
Now back to your statement about captains being downgraded.....
1. There senior captains would still hold captain.
2. Put a 5 year base and seat fence up and that would keep everyone where they are
3. What's going to happen to the 190 guys? You want to downgrade our guys so that the integration works?
This will be similar to southwest airtran not USAIR America west.

"This policy provides at the outset that its scope (Part 2B 1) should not be defined in terms of particular types of transactions or the timing or announcement of transactions, all of which are controlled by corporate interests, but rather in terms of situations when there is a need to protect employee interests. Thus, a “merger” is defined as a situation where there is a reasonable probability of sufficient operational integration between or among two or more ALPA airlines that there is or will be a need for an integrated seniority list, a JCBA and a merged MEC to adequately protect the employment interests of the flight deck crew members."

You have to treat the employees of the purchased company well or else you turn into a $h1thole airline that is American. Also, a UNITED pilot group gets a better contract in the long run than one that is divided. Will people never learn from the mistakes of the past from the whole east vs. west Us air fight? Those guys literally handed doug parker millions over the years cause they were too stupid to figure this out.
We work as a team or else this company will turn into another crappy american carrier with a crappy product.

Great detective work man. I'd be happy to exchange our real names too via PM if you'd like. Many on this board already know who I am. Yes I was on the 190 and now on the bus. Been here almost 3 years now. In fact I'm actually protecting the junior guys at Jetblue as your proposal only negatively effects Jetblue guys hired after 2007. Not sure how you read that as me screwing 190 guys.

Well lucky for us all it's available online for all of us to read. Read the following paragraphs from the merger policy. It is written to protect guys like the VA pilots from semantics of what is happening at the corporate level. Call it whatever you want merger/buyout/acquisition. It does not matter.

The top 1,646 slots go to SWA pilots.*
The next 116 AirTran captains are ratio'd with the next 725 SWA pilots.*
The next 208 AirTran captains are ratio'd with the next 1351 SWA pilots.*
The next 581 AirTran captains are ratio'd with the next 2018 SWA pilots.*
The first 142 AirTran FOs are ratio'd with the next 142 SWA pilots.*
The rest of the 649 AirTran FOs are stapled to the bottom of the SWA FO list.*
The pilots hired at SWA after the merger was announced are next.*
The pilots hired at AirTran after the merger was announced are next.*
The pilots hired at both carriers after the transaction closed on May 2 are in DOH order at the very bottom.
So there is a precedent for what I'm saying.

I haven't even said what I think is fair. I'm just saying your proposal is not fair to the VA guys and would not happen
