Excellent point.

This is the current bottom line. Save your DoH/staple arguments until you know what the situation is.

Nice political jab. The fact of the matter is there is VERY LITTLE overlap in the B6/VX systems. There is no reason to think that merger wouldn't be approved.

This move was probably started by B6 and Alaska is jumping in to stop it. I wouldn't be surprised to see others try and block it as well because it would be a great move for B6. With Boston, JFK, MCO, and SFO they become a much more competitive airline throughout the entire country.

B6's global strategy is codeshares just like every other U.S. airline these days. I don't think you will ever see any of the LCC carriers in the U.S. add a global fleet.

So your saying an arbitrator is going to put your number 1 guy right next to our number 1 guy even though VA wasn't even an idea when our number 1 guy was hired. Ok who's drinking the juice now? You are going to have 3500 ****ed off jetblue guys as opposed to 700 VA guys? Yeah that's going to happen. Like I said before let VA die on there own. Maybe y'all will get preferential interviews. Oh and I believe if we did make a play for VA it will be our ventures side business and not the airline itself. Just think of GUADELOUPE HOLDINGS and airtran...hint titty hint hint

absolutely correct.. Virgin was bleeding cash like a MOFO until oil went cheap...... ask some SWAPA guys how they would integrate with you...

VX has 700 B6 has 3300 Delta has 13000

so if i am at 50% senority at jetblue and delta buys us, i am just going to stroll over there and get 50% ??? YEAH RIGHT!!!!!

You already used sport. You're supposed come back with Chief or buddy or something. But you'd have to use your head and you clearly don't do that before you post. Your proposal is insane and it would never happen. You'd basically be downgrading all of their captains. This will automatically go to mediation and then arbitration if it has to. Even the most Jetblue friendly arbitrator would not use your plan.

From the McCaskill-Bond statute:

"If the covered transaction involves employee groups represented by the same union, the statute provides that the union's internal merger policies apply exclusively"

ALPA has a SLI merger policy.

we are talking about a buyout...not a merger... and yes that matters.

And have you read that 22 page document I have.......

1 it doesn't cover a buyout only a merger and in order to be considered a merger we'd have to integrate a MAJORITY of there airplanes routes gates people etc etc etc.

2. Basically it also states that the two parties work it out on there own.

Now back to your statement about captains being downgraded.....

1. There senior captains would still hold captain.
2. Put a 5 year base and seat fence up and that would keep everyone where they are
3. What's going to happen to the 190 guys? You want to downgrade our guys so that the integration works?

This will be similar to southwest airtran not USAIR America west.
