Yes. But think post-merger mania. Legacies are pretty much done. Now it's the lcc turn. Spirit/Frontier merger and fleet size in 5 yrs would be 5th largest potentially. There's also Hawaiian, Alaska, Virgin, Allegiant, along with Spirit and Frontier that are all potentials for mergers.

I don't think we'll see any mergers unless oil prices start to skyrocket again.

Sorry if it seems like the vultures are picking over your body and there's really no indication you're close to being dead.

Having said that, what is the word inside the VX world.....you guys hearing any rumors outside of what's being floated in the news?

We take them, throw a middle finger to LGB and do LAX and SFO. JB get to expand its presents out west, more planes for cuba and... stuff. We might even be able to land in the crazy middle parts of the country... weird right.

Slap it all together, by 2022 400+ a/c 6000+ pilots... short term pain, long term gain.

If I had to pick a partner it'd be VA. I'm sure we'll read about it in the paper. jb management won't even deny it... or confirm it for that matter.

Agreed. Of all airline merger options, this would be the "cleanest" pilot seniority integration.

Looks like Alaska has jumped into the bidding war. Probably a West Coast defensive move. A B6/VX merger probably makes more sense operationally because of fleet/pilot commonality.

That didn't stop Alaska from taking Jet America, however.

Cleanest? How you figure sport? If you mean clean like swa ata or swap airtran. You start the integration at jb 2007 hire with a 5 to 1 after that then yeah. But anything else no way. This is an acquisition not a merger.

When you drink the blue juice, it's supposed to be the blue Kool Aid. Not the lav juice.

No offense to anyone, but as a JB guy I DO want this!

It is the next step in becoming a true national carrier, and first step in becoming a global player.
