What's the deal on Guard?
#31
The trick is to not respond to the idiots trying to get a laugh. I have flown with people from 23-78 and I have yet to see any one of them make any remark on guard that was not required. I have also heard plenty of idiots say "jokes" on guard. The best response is nothing. After a couple "living the dream" and iPhone sound board broadcasts, they get bored and go back to playing Angry Birds on their phone. It is only when people react to their immaturity that causes further guard congestion. As every elementary school teacher known, simply ignoring the attentions seekers will fix the problem.

Thanks for the remedial training...
It's normally US military aircraft flying in international airspace. Iran just likes to poke the bear. We like poking back.

Just think of these guys like Bo and Luke Duke......never left Hazzard County.......Regional lifers. Just imagine if the Duke boys would have had an I-Phone to play over the Gerneral's CB? Roscoe would've flipped.

I just don't understand how you can get two idiots in one aircraft who think this "work work work" and "guuuuaaaarrrrd" nonsense is funny.
It takes two people per clown plane to continue this garbage. You would think at least one of them would have enough sense to say "cut it out, bro-it's really not funny anymore." Or maybe say something a bit less diplomatic.
I am afraid the media is gonna pick up on this sooner or later. The last thing in the world our profession needs is an investigative report on why the hell people are acting like 3 year olds on an emergency frequency.
I think it is a millennial thing. Sure, there are plenty of good people in that generation.... But only some self-absorbed, selfie-stick toting narcissistic ******* could really think that clogging up that freq. with this kind of childish nonsense is acceptable on any level.
I do know I have never heard anyone with a mature-sounding voice saying "hooooliiiidaaaaay" on the freq. They all sound like Beiber to me.
