Trying to verify this but word is one of our CAs - to whom the FAs have devoted an "I hate CA so and so" Facebook page - returned to the gate and had all three removed for texting during taxi out. How did he presumably know? The cameras in the back. Little dubious proof I'd say(not enough resolution to prove conclusive texting in my book), and again, trying to get an official source on this. Interesting nonetheless.

Holey Moley!

This kind of thinking is just plain Nutz!

We are entrusted with our crew's and passenger's LIVES... there is NO greater responsiblilty!... it is a VERY big deal!

Sheesh.

Check ride or on probation...
In the scheme of things, if its that important the Captain should have stayed home.

And before you young guys get all butt-hurt, I'm aware that older dudes in the left seat have also been guilty....
At least you didn't throw him under the bus like that jackhole CN who went to United. Have fun with him, United guys/gals.

You must be a Democrat.

Professionalism vs. Hurt feelings for not abiding by the rules and being called out on it.

In two separate posts, on the previous page, you admit to theft of a person's personal property AND then have the gall to tell someone else you don't have the time for "lack of discipline or respect?" REALLY?!?!

Take a step back from the keyboard - HERO - and try to understand how hypocritical your posts look/sound. Try to have a little humility and quit bragging about being a petty theif.

And you must be a Republican. Fantastic. I'm glad we figured that out. What do political leanings have to do with this discussion?

It's not the "calling out" that was the issue, it was the childish and unprofessional act of confiscating the cell phone battery. Crewmembers are not children, and despite the FO acting innapropriately, this particular captain's handling of the situation is in no way justified in a professional environment. You don't answer one act of immaturity with another. I would have no issue with the captain addressing his fellow crewmember and telling the FO that his actions were out of line. I do, however, take issue with the fact that this captain felt the need to act like he was the FO's father and take away his toy, as if that would some how prove a point or accomplish anything. I guess when it comes down to it, I'm much more appalled by the captain's inability to run a professional cockpit than I am by the FO's innapropriate use of his mobile device.

I got one fancy phone, not much use. I can't get it to stop blinking 12:00.

OK Elliot... It's time to learn and use your words properly.

There was no theft involved.
Took out the battery and gave the phone back to him. Told Junior, if he was a good little doobie, he'd get his battery back after the last flight of the day.
The item in question was confiscated for the duration of the day. I failed to mention this was not the first occurrence with the the individual.

Now you and Ben just sit in the corner and drink your milk and eat your cookies and whimper just how captjns is a meanie weenie for demanding professional behavior in accordance with the policy and procedures of company procedures and manuals as imparted during I doc. It's OK
