Family With Troublesome Child Thrown Off AirTran Flight
#21
Many years ago, our family was traveling from NY to LA. My daughter, was about 3 at the time. She loved to travel, in fact the bumpier the flight, the more she liked it.
On this day, when the cabin door was closed I felt a slight pressurization surge in my ears. This set off my daughter and she cried like you wouldn't believe for several hours. Yea, we got some stares.
Two days later we had to take her to the emergency room for pains in her head, as she called it. Turns out it was a bad sinus and ear infection, which explained the crying on the flight. We almost had to spend the night at the hospital. We had to extend the visit at Grandma and Grandpa's place by several days, which wasn't all that bad.
Three year olds can't really communicate much except that "my head hurts", or something similiar with something like this.
So who knows just what the circumstances of this particular scenario really were. Certainly no one who contributed to this discussion.
Oh yes, I've deadheaded on more than a few flights when children were disruptive. I've also deadheaded or flown on more than a few trips when supposed adults were worse than children.

Other than news reports most, if not all the people on this forum really don't know what happened.

When I was about 10 we went to visit family in TUS, via DFW. During both rides I had MASSIVE tooth pain during descent. And I mean HORRIBLE toothh pain. I was crying the whole way to the ground. I later learned it was a maxillary sinus block, something that's incredibly painful even for an adult.

Ya know I would have killed to have a little girl call me daddy but my step daughter has really sucked the life out of the whole having kids thing...kudos to all the parents who have raised kids with the end result being that they have respect for themselves and the people around them, I am somewhat in envy. As for the flight in question, it is not fair to the people around little (Amy...or whoever) that they have to sit and hear that crap!!! I look forward to going back to boxes.
