Boy that -900 looks so much better than that ugly troll -800!

It would look even better with Delta painted on the side, in BIG letters!

Really? I'm at 17 years and still 2300 numbers below most junior NYC 7ER capt. How long between your hire date and first opportunity to hold it?

That doesn't sound right. Either you don't have 17 years, or you're no more than 1,000 numbers out on the last AE's.

Correction: bottom NY 7ERa is 8100. I held it at 17 years. The plug is a 99 hire (I have no idea if he is N or S.)

Curious. Why are you still a MD FO? I would think you could hold captain on a LOT of things. If the -ER weren't a dying category, you could probably hold it sooner, but I know a ton of senior guys that are gonna ride it into the desert. Hopefully when the 330s start getting here it will entice some to move on, and you will hold it soon.

Those airplanes in DAL colors will guarantee the demise of NRT even faster.

The current price of fuel is making them even more profitable now. Unfortunately, that doesn't help the cost of the heavy checks that would need to begin in 2016.

Edit: They might be profitable at the moment, I'll give you that. But. You are maintaining that the payback for those checks is too far out. Therefore, they would no longer be profitable. Sorry if the truth hurts. Enjoy your view from the perch while you have it. I am glad that the company is getting ahead of the issue instead of being reactionary. And ALPA has nothing to do with the decision. Imagine that. Maybe if 747 captains didn't make so much we could keep 'em longer.
