I guess Chuckles was absent from Economics 101 regarding "Free Market Society". Better yet, he should have one of his aides read up on Samuelson's book on Economics and brief him on the subject.

The traveling public had become spoiled by low ticket prices over the past 10 years, as the majors were losing billions, and slashing fares trying to keep planes full.
Someone should show him what the average ticket price would be today if it had kept up with inflation for the past 30 years, oh, and remind him that every major airline went bankrupt after 9-11, and every major airline pilot lost their pay, benefits and retirement plans.
Why didn't we hear from Chuck when BP made $10 Billion a quarter, while their oil well was spewing billions of gallons into the gulf, and gas prices were running up?

You are correct, maybe I should re-phrase my statement to say " we are the idiots" for continuing to put up with their B.S.

The whole issue Chuckie brought up was about whether or not airlines are colluding. That is illegal and should not be allowed. There is nothing they can do about us not lowering prices just because our costs have dropped, they can however do something if they can prove there is collusion.
