Single pilot airliners are the next big threat, who knows when those things will be online. There needs to be an all new ATC system first, and you know how fast .gov operates....so you are pretty safe.

If the 'old guy' took a nap, perhaps it's a back-handed indication of his confidence in you to mind the store for awhile.

(I've seen A LOT of napping in the right seat, usually without warning or a 'do you mind?' Not good.)

I appreciate your optimism. I'm about 14 months out from sending my deets to the regionals and there is definitely much more uncertainty about their future right now, not that that is inherently a bad thing, but that is more to the forefront of my mind right now. The upside is that by about the time I would reasonably expect to have a class date at a regional, I should be sitting on about 2200-2400TT with most of that being multi-turbine PIC (very big and busy DZ), so maybe I will be able to explore other avenues besides regionals to reach the majors.

In the meantime...save a seat for me at AA, please!
