Delta 30 Gates In SEA
#51
Concern? Sure there's concern. Delta is a bohemith with an emotional bully at the controls, of course there's concern. I just hope they keep buying up Airbus made in France, ****ing on Boeing and Seattle & alienating 50% of its consumers for dipping in the political pool.
I do think the 787 would have been a good choice for PR in SEA, but those concerns are easily dismissed by the fact that DL already flys more than 3 times the Boeings than AS, not counting the 717, and is getting more brand new 737-900's every month.
The flying public probably couldn't care less about the political statements of the airline they decide to buy a seat on. But if I'm not mistaken, SEA is mostly a democratic voting block, and any left-leaning political positions would probably be well received in the Emerald City.
Just my opinion, but AS will be just fine up on the north side of SeaTac, and we'll be fine down on the south side.
There's no need for concern, unless you're a Bronco fan like I am..!

Delta is CURRENTLY serving the Pacific and Europe with Airbus AND Boeing product. Are you aware of passengers booking away from the Airbus? Me neither.
If Delta is making a mistake publicly supporting the President on Immigration, and alienating 50% of the people, are we getting the other 50%? That's not a bad trade, considering that in SEA, you're the "bohemith".
Truth be told, we're not really sure why Delta is supporting the President on this. I haven't heard a plausible answer in that little bit of political calculus, but I'm not going to slice-and-dice Seattle citizens based on a superficial and incomplete analysis. If I were to use your arguments, I'd have to note this stance is putting Delta on the side of labor. I tend to think others are going to follow suit. Or is Alaska going to double-down on the anti-labor, anti-Democrat, pro-congressional Republican stance?

Did Richard tell you he was only going to grow SEA because he's got a hard-on for Alaska for some reason?
Note to Pelican, it's about business, it's not all about you.
Blame the Japanese Government, Richard would have much rather moved the NRT hub to HND, but the Japanese Government wouldn't allow it. So Richard has decided to overly Japan completely, out of SEA. Oh, and he signed Microsoft as Delta's largest corporate account, but had to guarantee them more non-stop international flights.
To have a successful international hub, you have to feed it. He asked Alaska to provide more feed, over a year ago but YOUR BOSS told him to stick it, so Richard is going to have to feed it with Delta flights, vs. Alaska. I'm sure he would have much rather had Alaska feed it, than have to compete against Alaska, but YOUR BOSS didn't want to.
Is that going to impact Alaska's earnings?
Perhaps.
You want to get emotional about it?

THIS is what is going on in SEA. It has nothing to do with us "stealing" your Sitka and Boise passengers. It has everything to do with what is going on with HND access and the crap sandwich the Japanese government is serving up U.S. carriers.
