Delta 30 Gates In SEA

However, you do realize the irony of a fish stapler, don't you? In other words, using a fish stapler would make sense if Alaska buys Delta Airlines, as the fish is an "Alaskan staple" ... Something we would do to you!
Again, though, I don't think our pilot group would do that to y'all bubbas. Sadly, based on your comments, however, I don't think the reverse would be true.

I get it.
Apparently you don't.
We'd staple all of those that pilot this to the list.
However, you are right in one area. We probably wouldn't staple you. But very likely you all would get Guadeloupe'd.
Fair enough, and thanks for the explanation, Manager.

Man o man, a couple bankruptcies and a merger sure has turned you into a bunch arrogant Delta-Bags hasn't it? If we're speaking our mind, like you obviously are, I hope the global economy collapses and you all are bankrupt again in 2 years. Now that would be awesome & fun for everyone. Good luck with your "global domination"
Merry Chritmas to you too

Yeah, that is toolish also, but the old "they did it, so it's all right if I do it, too" argument stopped working in grade school. I've got lots of friends at Alaska since I live in the northwest, and they are great people. Most Delta pilots are, too. A few folks always slip through the cracks, and anyone who wishes ill on another is a tool, regardless of which uniform they wear.

FWIW - it is subjective. When someone addresses a specific individual in a disparaging manner it hits my criteria.
I am open to suggestions on how to do it better and you can always report a post via the red triangle.

That is totally fair. Appreciate the explanation.

At the risk of outing myself. The best man at my wedding is an AS Captain. He is, obviously in my opinion, a great guy. I don't want anything bad to befall him, his wife or the kids. All of whom I care very much about.
Both of our sides in this issue are, I think, justified in our feelings. On the DAL side, it has sucked for quite a while watching all those routes that we used to fly turn into green lines in the back of the magazine (i.e. go to Alaska) It's nice, and right for them to come back. On the AS side, it has to suck getting rolled in on by a behemoth and maybe a perceived bully.
I've talked to my bud many times about this. I feel that DAL has no choice. We have to solve Asia, and SEA is the answer. I feel that AS should have gotten on board. He disagrees. He feels that AS couldn't commit to just one dance partner. We are both, I'm sure, heavily influenced by home-team pride and wanting to believe what our respective companies are telling us.
At the end of the day though, he's a good guy and I'd like to think that I am too. We didn't have a damn thing to do with any of this, and won't have any effect (affect?) on it going forward, other than trying to out customer service the other guy.
Back when a merger was looking very possible, he and I talked a bit about possible outcomes. Before we got too deep into it, we both decided that if it were to go down, we wouldn't even discuss any SLI issues. Either what we thought should happen, or what the result was if it came to that. We both have good friends on both sides of the AA/TWA thing and some of those guys don't speak any more.
At the end of the day, I think we all know that this is all happening above us. Nothing said on these boards or elsewhere among us has any effect (affect?)....../ sorry, I'm never sure about that one /.....on the outcome.
To the AS guys: realize where we're coming from on this SEA flying. We used to do it. For a few reasons, it got siphoned off of our metal. We are happy it may be coming back. Asia is a problem that needs to be addressed for us. This is DAL's solution. (also, ....cricket....don't paint with such a broad brush. There's 12,000 of us. You're talking to like, 10 here. The D-bag thing is getting old)
To my DAL bro's: realize it sucks to be in a tight spot. Also, that it's not a given. Just because we are hitting on all cylinders right now, doesn't mean that we won't screw this up. Also, we are not dealing with some 3rd tier outfit. AS has always been known as a well run, high class, customer loyal airline. If you were an AS guy, living life in a great part of the country and some entity came in looking to possibly wreck that, it would **** you off too. You'd be defensive and hostile to that entity. I would. Have a little empathy and don't, I dunno, gloat about our CEO's hardball tactics. This might be great for both our sides, but it might not. It could get ugly. As annoying as Cricket is, I don't want to see him furloughed. Like the other poster, I've been there-done-that for nearly 5 years, and it ain't no fun.
At the end of the day, we are all the same dudes. Be proud of your company and bust ass to out-do the competition, but beating each other up over this stuff doesn't really do anything other than put a spotlight on who the 10%ers are.
PS.
That bet on the future DAL SEA departures? Can I get in on that? I know I'm preaching Kumbaya, but free money is free money.
