I wonder how delta's BOD will view RA's ventures into JNU that apparently wasted lots of money on a battle he had already lost from the start?

Overall the Seattle expansion has been a huge success. Yields are not only well above forecast but the second highest in the system. I doubt RA is going to get anything other then a pat on the back and another million stock options. The plans for departures out of Seattle long term are ramping up daily. Out of everything thrown into SEA in the last two years there have only been two underperforming routes. That's remarkable when building a new hub.

Don't forget, when it comes to Juno any service into Juno by Delta allows delta to force Alaska to cut ticket prices in half.

SEA expansion continues, the current plan is to open SEA 73N base in January bid...followed by 330 later in 2015...seems to suggest the "battle" has barely commenced.

Probably don't care since he is making them 4 BILLION dollars this year. I'm sure the 75 that was doing JNU will make lots more doing SEA-ANC over the summer. Throw an RJ on it for awhile during the summer and we still make money. Probably make more money with a DCI RJ doing SEA-JNU than your Alaska RJ's doing SLC-BOI.

Pretty sure there is already a SEA 330 base.

False.

Richard Anderson always gets his way.

You ever notice you never see him and Chuck Norris in the same place at the same time?

While you're focusing on that one city pair, DL is staying in the market and, even with RJ's, dumping a lot of seats per year into it. Meanwhile, in KSEA…

There's probably going to be a big announcement soon where DL retreats from SEA and offers an unconditional surrender to AS, takes a back seat to EK, respects Alaska's "Swiss Neutrality" sovereignty, RA retires to spend more time with his family and DL stock tanks and all the west coast are belong to Alaska.

Either that or larger than first needed JNU equipment for a few months didn't even move the profit needle an observable amount and the MASSIVE and rapid Seattle expansion will continue unabated.

Either way.
