I discovered this as a result of participating in the NAI call to action, but, nice straw man misdirect.

I'm more curious why you think it's not worth wasting time on? Here's the union that condemns outsourcing doing just that. It's true there isn't as much money at stake, but the hypocrisy and irony is untenable, or hilarious. I'm just not sure which.

Correction, ALPA pilots are their customers, however, ALPA pilots could be anyone that is a card carrying member. ALPA is perfectly happy with replacing you with another ALPA pilot. IF ALPA could have exclusive rights to represent the NAI pilots, we would be gone so fast our heads would spin faster than the ALPA apologists will spin the OP.

Its like everything else in life, you have to pick your battles...if you think this is worthwhile go for it.

How can ALPA (and by extension, we) demand and expect support from Congress and the American public in our fight against NAI when we ourselves directly participate in outsourcing work that should be done in the US?

Yes, obviously. I'm taking the first step to see if others feel the same way as I do, and you've made the point that you think it's a waste of time. I understand that.

What I was asking is why you feel if not worth your time? To me, this issue speaks to the integrity of the union. I do think there should be transparency and accountability to the membership on the issue of integrity. If there has been a lapse, I want to know so I can gauge my participation accordingly.

Let's suppose this is true. It is a horrible catch 22. So many on here choose to throw grenades because they are outsourcing to a lower cost entity. OK.. I get that, especially if they are foreign. (I personally don't like this at all, and will contact my rep in the matter) However, for those of you that are upset, are you in favor of DPA? If you answer yes to that, would you please explain to me how you expect to lower dues, AND use higher cost labor in order to obtain this type of service? Or do you truly believe that there will be reps and companies that will perform these services at lower costs just because they should? No flame... not trying to ignote the ALPA/DPA debate... I just want to understand the economic argument.
